Commemorating 45 Years of Container Shipping - Maersk Line Remember Their First Full Container-Ship Adrian Maersk

Maersk Line's remembers the 45th anniversary of the Adrian Mærsk inaugural sailing which launched Maersk's first containerized route - The Panama Line. The voyage began 5 September 1975 when Adrian Mærsk left pier 51 in Port Newark, New Jersey loaded with 385 containers.

Today Maersk Line is the largest containerized shipping company in the world serving over 343 ports in 121 countries and transports over 112 Million containers annually. Over the years, Maersk's ships have also significantly grown in size. One such example is the Maersk Madrid delivered in 2017 which is able to carry 20,500+ containers on a single voyage.
