Cunard Announces Revised 2022 World Cruise

The Coronavirus continues to cause havoc worldwide. In the latest announcement from Cunard Line, the Cruise Line has ceased all cruising until April of 2021. This means that all of the longer cruises that Cunard operates during the winter months, including the Queen Mary 2's 2021 World Cruise has been canceled.

With the closure of many of the world ports to cruise passengers; travelers not comfortable boarding ships; restricted air travel worldwide; complicated coronavirus prevention methods; and no vaccine available - Cunard did not feel the climate was right to conduct these far-reaching cruises.

The president of Cunard released the following statement. With this new extension to our pause in operations, we recognize that Covid-19 has now impacted two consecutive World Voyages for our guests, causing a great deal of disappointment. Given how popular these routes are, we have made the decision to cancel all planned voyages departing between January 3 and April 3, 2022, including the voyage to South America, and replace them with our much loved classic World Voyage to Australia via the Suez Canal. This new 118-night round-trip New York World Voyage will be available to book from September 8, 2020.

In January 2022, Queen Mary 2 will embark on an unforgettable World Voyage round-trip New York. For 118 nights, you’ll visit 16 countries and 27 ports in an exploration of Asia and Australia. Sailing east-west from Southampton, via the Suez Canal, you’ll chart a fascinating course through the eastern hemisphere on Cunard’s iconic flagship.

If you can't get away for the full 118 night voyage, you can indulge in just one part of her journey, you’ll find shorter options to escape in one of the six key segments of the World Voyage.
