Bahamas provides guidelines for Cruise line to return to island nation
Bahamas Government provides protocol that cruise passengers must follow when visiting the island nation.

Effective November 1, 2020 the Bahamas has modified their stance on the entry of cruise passengers in the island nation establishing strict rules that passengers must follow when visiting the island nation. The easing of regulations comes just as the CDC has also loosened their grip on the cruise lines allowing them to sail again, provided they are adhering to guidelines. Since the Bahamas is an important cruise destination from New York and Florida, the announcement comes just in time for cruising to resume.

The Bahamas new rules have provisions that allow cruise guests and crew to be covered by tests already done by the cruise line prior to embarkation before the ship arrives in the Bahamas.

Effective 1 November 2020, The Bahamas will require all travelers to:

  • Obtain a COVID-19 RT PCR test five (5) days prior to arrival.
  • Apply for a Bahamas Health Travel Visa at travel.gov.bs
  • For the duration of the visit, complete a daily online health questionnaire for symptom tracking purposes. Take a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test on Day 5 of the visit (unless departing on day 5).
  • Always wear a mask and always social distance in public places.
  • In addition, beginning 14 November 2020, all visitors will be required to opt-in to mandatory COVID-19 health insurance when applying for their Health Travel Visa. The insurance will cover travelers for the duration of their stay in The Bahamas.

Please check with the cruise lines and the Bahamas Government for updates as your cruise approaches. The Rules and Guidelines are fluid and change in regard to COVID and the progression / regression of the spread of the disease.
