Due to the large number of cruise ships departing from the port of New York and New Jersey amd the ever increasing size of some ships, facilities have been distributed thoughout the port. With some ship carrying 4,000 passengers and 2700 crew - multiple ships in the same port at the same time can create major gridlock. In order to distribute the traffic and make the embarkation / disembarkation process less stressful the load is frequently managed across multiple locations.
